Welcome to day three of my mini challenge. If you missed the last couple of days, I am easing myself into this huge makeover by completing Celestine Chua’s 15 day affirmation challenge on her blog Personal Excellence. It has been pretty interesting so far, and has really gotten my hyped up for my one year New Me Makeover coming up soon!
Today’s topic is Ability.
More specifically, it is about not letting our minds limit our abilities. We can’t achieve anything without first relieving that we can. In order to achieve more we have to first BELIEVE we can achieve more, and start to rid our minds of limiting beliefs.
I know there are so many times I didn’t do something becuase I told myself I couldn’t. I didn’t takethe job because I didn’t think I could handle it, or didn’t go somewhere because I didn’t think I would fit in.
If our minds can think it, we can do it!
On to today’s tasks…
Identify a goal/dream that you’re blocking yourself in currently
I would love to find a job that involves traveling and being active. Maybe something in the tourist industry or with the Park Services, where I have ore freedom. I would love to operate my own outdoor tourist company.
Identify your self-limiting belief(s) in this goal/dream.
I don’t feel qualified and am too nervous to give up my steady, well paying job for something more exciting. I like knowing that I will get X ammount of dollars every two weeks, with a nice bonus quarterly. I don’t fully trust myself to be able to live a more unstead existance financially, and am nervous that I won’t have th ability to make it work.
What happens if I fail, then can’t find a job again?
Change this self-limiting belief(s)
I am educated, smart and experieinced. There is a good chance I will succeed at whatever I really set my mind to. And if not, if I do fail, there are always places hiring.
Identify action step(s) you’re going to take to realize this goal/dream
I want to be prepared for making the change. Here is my plan:
- Begin talking and networking with people who do what I want to do. I will search LinkedIn for people who work in the Parks Services and who work for or own their own adventure touring company.
- I will get more out of my shell and try more outdoor adventures-how can I sell it if I have never done it?
- I will continue to work on my fitness and keeping my body in shape, so that when the time comes I am prepared!!
- I will set small actionabe goals towards my ultimate goal of leaving my job and doing what I dream of.
Say your new belief(s), along with today’s affirmation:
“I can achieve anything I want, as long as I set my heart to it. I will make a change in my life, and I have the ability to do whatever I want!”
